Jin from BTS Completes His Military Service . Great news for ARMY! Our beloved Jin from BTS has officially completed his mandatory military service. We are thrilled to welcome him back and see what he has in store for us in this new chapter.
Military service is mandatory for all South Korean men, usually between the ages of 18 and 28. South Korea enforces this mandate due to the ongoing threat of conflict with North Korea.
The service lasts between 18 and 21 months, depending on the branch of the armed forces they are assigned to. Soldiers receive basic training, followed by specific tasks according to their assignment.
During this time, many K-pop idols, like Jin, take a break from their careers to fulfill this national duty. Despite the distance and time away from the stage, ARMY’s dedication and support never waver. Thank you for always being there!
To respect other soldiers and operations at the facilities, BTS’s agency requested fans not to visit the military sites.
Additionally, local news outlet Dispatch reported that all seven members of BTS will reunite this Wednesday to celebrate Jin’s completion of his military service.
The other six members, who are also fulfilling their military duties, have requested formal leave to join Jin for this special moment.
Jin enlisted in December 2022 and served in the army for 18 months. This Wednesday, he will return to civilian life and, according to reports, he is already preparing a solo album set to be released in the second half of this year.
